Cephalonia, Greece

Steeped in lots of tragic history (warfare for centuries); once the wars stopped, the island was wracked by an enormous earthquake in 1953, which flattened everthing.  Today, it's rebuilt - but looks much more like Italy than Greece.... we visited two caves (I know!  who goes to Greece and goes spellunking?  But they have some really interesting caves here, so off we went.  We also drove by the most photographed beach in Greece - so figured we should keep the tradition alive, right?

Myrtos Beach

Below is a pic of one the 2 caves we visited.  Both VERY cool - figuratively and literally, as the temp was about 61 - a welcome relief from the upper 90s outside..  This cave has concerts in it because the acoustics are supposed to be some of the best in the world.
